"Fear" versus "Faith"
"Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced. " - James Baldwin
It's amazing how much power we give "fear" versus "faith." I mean, if we count how many ideas, projects, and/or opportunities we allowed to pass us by or didn't complete because of fear of the unknown, fear of success or fear of failure, I bet they would out way those that we seized the moment with and took the opportunity. Why is that?
We put so much undue stress and strain on making the "right" decision when in reality, many times we won't know if it's right until we make that conscious effort to figure it out, take the chance or risk, and tweak it to fit our individual needs and expectations. But most of us don't even get that far. Instead, we ponder and seek guidance from those who may or may not have our best interest at heart, are nay-sayers or have no vested interest or care in the world as to the outcome of the decision because it's not going to impact them. We can come up with a million reasons why we "can't" and next to none on the reason's we "can" and "should." We trust in others more than we trust in ourselves and give "fear" more credit than our "faith."
We need to stop the "fear" that binds us and embrace our "faith" and willingness to step out and try something new and different. We need to believe in ourselves and embrace our strengths vs fighting with our inequities and preying on our weaknesses. We need to give ourselves credit toward the power to succeed and embrace the opportunity to see the light and weather the storm.
