The Ultimate Gift

"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving." -- Mother Teresa

Whether we live lavish and comfortable or well below our means, the ultimate test of a person is character.  It's not the degree(s), the job(s), the money assets, friends, or lack there of ... as these things are materialistic in nature and can go just as well as they came.

A person's character, to give of oneself unconditionally is the ultimate gift.  How is that defined?  It's defined by honesty, trust, dependability, morals, values, beliefs, love and how we treat others.  It's how we carry ourselves in good and challenging times and how we give from the heart.  It's not about how often we give, where we give or to whom we give but more so why we give because the most cherished moments are given unconditionally via a thought, word or deed without forethought.  It may be a smile, a friendly gesture or a helping hand but whatever it is... what may be small and inconsequential for one may be big and surmountable to another.  We never know how one act of kindness can affect another.

Isn't it time we become an agent for change and give the gift of the heart.
